H Plastic Surgery is the first private hospital in Korea to introduce 3D printers for surgery.
The 3D printer creates the customized facial bone models with the medical data of
the patient to be operated on and creates specific surgery plans.
We can create exquisite facial bone models based on medical data with 3D printing technology,
and perform a continuous simulation of the surgical site in advance. It also improves to prepare for
a sophisticated surgery to be closer to perfection. The repetitive simulation gives a
systematic structured surgical plan, which patients and hospitals can be highly satisfied.
With a 3D model, it improves better consultation and understanding of specific diagnose,
treatment, and state of the lesion to explain it to the patients and their families.
It provides one step higher level in terms of medical services.
In addition, based on high anatomical understanding, the operation time is drastically reduced,
improving the patient's resilience. And it increases the safety of a patient by lowering bleeding, side effects, and complications.

Stereoscopic analysis with 3D CT

A three-dimensional stereo analysis is performed in
order to precisely diagnose the invisible bone
structure, neural gland, and personal facial structure.
With Scientific and systematic post-operative
outcome prediction, it is used to identify functional
problems and it improves cosmetic effects together.

3D Printer

After a 3D facial bone model is printed using a
3D printer,the prosthesis can be created close to the
perfect bone structure.It allows it to check the inner
and outer bone shape structure before the surgery
with a sham operation to prevent possible side
effects that may occur after surgery.
ProJet MJP 3600 Dental is the latest printer from the
world's leading 3D Systems company. ProJet MJP
3600 Dental is a professional printer with a size of
298 *183 * 203mm that provides a sufficient output
size for full face bones. The accuracy of the
high-precision model output has a distortion of
0.001-0.002 inches per inch of output.

Morpheus 3D (Face Scanner)

It is a solution composed of Morpheus 3D simulation
software that uses Morpheus 3D . 3D face scanners
and face data with a scanner to simulate a virtual
simulation.
The Morpheus 3D screening system has the ability
to analyze the differences of the length and the
volume to balance it accurately and to guide the
treatment direction.

Square Jaw Reconstruction/Reoperation?

It is a surgical procedure that restores the deformation due to external injury, bone resorption or
improper resection of the square jaw after orthognathic surgery or facial contouring surgery,
according to patient’s pre-operative conditions or patient's needs.
Restorative materials used for square jaw reconstruction and reoperation includes a polymer, ceramic,
metal, autogenous bone, and allogenic bone. The choice of restorative material depends on the nature
of the patient and the method of operation.


PMMA

It has been used for many years since its development
in the 1940s. It is widely used in many fields (skull,
artificial joint, spine surgery, etc.) and is often called
cement or methyl bond.
PMMA is not toxic and has excellent biological and
chemical properties. It was released as strengthening
osseous tissue pharmaceutical product in USA.
(FDA approved)

PCL, PCL+TCP (Tricalcium Phosphate)

PCL is a body absorbent biopolymer ; TCP is an
absorbent ceramic.
PCL is a plastic that melts and disappears in the human
body. An alternative self-organization must be created,
and if self-organization is not secured, volume
reduction and physical geometry may change.
The advantage of ceramics is that it is good for union
with bones however, there are a disadvantage that
ceramics can break easily if it has not undergone
sintering. (baking at high temperatures)

Titanium

Titanium is a highly reactive metal material. It is
being clinically actively used on the craniofacial part.
It has a characteristic that fuses well with the bone
because it is biologically friendly. For titanium,
metal screws are used. The strength is very strong it

Zygomatic Surgery?

This surgery minimizes the deletion of zygomatic and repositions them to the appropriate positions.

The volume of the front zygomatic is created according to the patient's face type and it reduces the 45-degree zygomatic,
front zygomatic, and back zygomatic by repositioning them by pushing it inward.

The angled section of the jaw below the ear is commonly referred to as a “square jaw” or the mandibular angle.

Genioplasty Surgery?

It is recommended to those who have a long and protruded chin or retracted chin.
It is a surgical procedure that moves the position of the jawbone by reducing the length of the chin edge or by moving it back and forth.
Depending on the patient’s symptoms, a reduction genioplasty, anterior sliding genioplasty,
posterior sliding genioplasty, narrowing genioplasty, and lengthening genioplasty are performed.

Double osteotomy on the tip of the jaw to reduce the length of the jaw.

Surgical Procedure

Full face photography,
3D CT and X-ray photography.

Morpheus 3D facial scanner shooting.
Consultation with Dr. Baek Jung Hwan based
on the photographs data for primary diagnosis.

If the operation is decided, 3D CT data
will be used to print 1: 1 patient’s facial bone
model output from the 3D printer.

also check in details of any state, movement,
and removal of the bone during the surgery.

Multi-dimensional verification and
analysis of STL stereograms of designed
implants, final design completion.

Production of a final 3D FIT implant

After the final sham operation,
conformity review, correction, and
deletion with a 3D FIT implant and facial
bone structure model printed from a
3D printer. Surgery is performed.

Precautions Before 3D FIT Reconstructive Surgery

  1. Surgery will be operated under general anesthesia.
    Do not consume any food for 8 hours before the surgery.
    (includes water, gum, candy, juice)
    TIP!! Have a small meal before a fast
    (You are allow to leave the hospital on the day of a surgery)
  2. Please notify us if there are any current medications that you are
    taking, please have a permission from a doctor.
    For at least one or two weeks before the surgery, avoid taking
    aspirin or hormone medications, it may cause a bleeding after
    the surgery.
    If you have a high blood pressure, please notify the doctor and
    take high blood pressure medication on the day of the surgery.
  3. Please wear a comfortable clothes on the day of a surgery.
    (ex. button up shirt)
    make sure to bring out wear jacket that has a hat attached.
  4. Lenses, jewelries, manicure is not allow. (no full make up)
  5. Avoid driving a car on the day of the surgery.
  6. Please take a morning shower before coming to the hospital.
    Please arrive at the hospital on appointment time.

  1. 1day after the surgery - To sterilize the wounded scar.
  2. 4-7days after the surgery - To check if the mouth wound healed up correctly.
  3. 2weeks after the surgery - To remove surgical thread.
  4. 1month after the surgery - To check the surgical area.
